The Seahawks added receiver and special teams standout Irvin Charles in a trade with the Jets.

The Seahawks made a trade with the Jets on Wednesday, adding receiver and special teams standoutIrvin Charlesin exchange for a 2028 conditional seventh-round pick, pending physical.

Receiver Trayvon Rudolph, an undrafted rookie out of Toledo, was waived to make room on the roster.

Charles, who initially signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2023, began his college career at Penn State before playing one season at Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Charles appeared in 25 games for the Jets in 2023 and 2024, establishing himself as a special teams standout before tearing his ACL late in his second season, causing him to miss all of the 2025 season. Over two seasons, Charles recorded 14 special teams tackles as well as one blocked punt.

The 6-foot-4, 219-pound Charles is the second receiver and special teamer added by the Seahawks this offseason along with sixth-round pick Emmanuel Henderson Jr., giving the Seahawks a couple of options to replace the special teams play of receiver Dareke Young, who left in free agency this offseason.
